He holds a number of patents related to his biopharmaceutical research, including research on plasma-derived hyperimmune globulins and alpha-1 proteinase inhibitor, and has received the Guangzhou City Science and Technology Award in connection with his work "Preparation of Equine Antibodies against Avian Influenza."
