Zeev, you earlier today mentioned a story about alleged Bush cocaine use as "fact" before I pointed out to you that the sole source cited for that story had discredited it.
The level of truth in Kitty Kelley's book and the Swift Boat book are both unknown to those of us who don't know what actually happened, but you seem eager to believe anti-Bush smear and quite eager to dismiss anti-Kerry smear.
I say, it's all smear and it can all go in the trash. I didn't read the Swift Boat book and I don't think it matters. What "stuck" in the public's mind and what killed Kerry at the polls was not the details (or lack thereof) contained in that book but rather the correct perception that Kerry was at the time basing his entire campaign around an inflated war-hero story apparently for lack of anything better to run on. He has since changed his tune from "I was in Vietnam!" to "Iraq is going to hell in a handbasket"... time will tell if that will work out better.
