Sun Strikes Back at Red Hat

From Grimes On SI

""We are absolutely targeting Red Hat specifically," said Sun's chief operating officer, Jonathan Schwartz. "When Linux on Intel started, we were on the blade side of the ax. Next time, we want to be on the side of the handle." Schwartz acknowledged that profit margins are slim for Intel-compatible hardware, but he figures that Sun will be able to make money by offering the only solid alternative to Linux on Intel-compatible servers. A new version of Sun's Unix, Solaris 10, is due out in December, with the ability to run software applications that were written for Linux or Microsoft Windows.

What REALLY struck me as interesting is how many times the article writer, and ESPECIALLY Sun's COO mentions the name intel, while the term "AMD" barely gets a mention at all. Kind of unusual for a company supposedly in bed with Hector RuiN.
