Hey gdpec,

It is a throw-back to a few decades of sportscasting and news reporting .... began thousands of games with, "A pleasent good day(evening, morning, etc) Wildcat (or whoever the mascot) football (or baseball, basketball, hockey - yes even volleyball) fans. Greetings and salutations from Tulley Stadium (or one of hundreds of others) where Our College (or whoever) plays host to whomever they are playing.

Oh, and while I was over on Wilcrest, I did here a woman's operatic voice going do - re - me - fa - so ..... not singing but warming up.
