Ummm Questions......Please Help!

I finally got around to buying the spongetech pack at the local walgreens. On the package it says "up to 8 washes". I am assuming it means 8 car washes. My questions; How many times can I wash my dog to equal the 8 car washes? Is this safe?? If so, how come there is no mention of using this as a pet sponge on the packaging? I thought I read a post about using it as a pet sponge but I cant search posts unless I subscribe. Can someone link to the post where using it on pets is discussed?

A little FYI. The chamois towel sucks for drying a dog. Other than that, my dog REALLY enjoyed getting a bath with the yellow spongetech sponge! I passed on using the degreaser/detail sponge as I didnt see any grease on him.
