I find it interesting that no one has picked up on Cassandra's earlier comment... Re: eDigitals Financial position.
Just for a moment look a the following proposition from a standpoint of RISK.
Question: Why purchase from eDigital
Before we get there. Consider this, regardless of how compelling a product or technology is from eDigital... (and some of them have been very compelling)
Prudent companies always conduct financial investigations into potential suppliers/partners before committing themselves. Here I believe lies the inherent weakness of eDigital.
So what do you do if you're a business manager for a major firm. Are you going to place your career and the companies future on eDigital, and its long term viability?
Therefore to do business with Edigital, one must find a significant company to underwrite the project (take on the responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing, production, and sustaining operations before committing oneself.
This is why eDigital, I think requires the partners its chosen, and continues to seek others. (my opinion only chaps).
The partners eDigital needs must offer the ultimate customer the necessary assurance & stability to last through the life of the product, and continue sustaining engineering/service repair etc, throughout the products life-span, and perhaps in to later iterations of said product
If a customer (Alaska Airlines etc) purchases products from eDigital, what assurance do they have, that eDigital will remain viable long enough to meet is obligations, Service/ refurbishment & repair.
Check the latest 10Q report for eDigitals version of the future (we cannot guarantee!) Can one place re-orders in future? Will eDigitals suppliers be the same. Will the quality be the same?
Tough questions, and tough to answer, but I think they play a significant role in the eDigital saga.
eDigital must partner up with a manufacturing house, with the financial resources and confidence to underwrite eDigital and its products, before they can truly obtain traction.
Personally I appreciate Cassandra's posts, and find that she has a unique way of seeing through smoke screens, and cutting to the chase. Again I find her analysis to be spot on. The financial strength of eDigital has to be a significant factor in its ability, or inability to perform in the marketplace. Current management not withstanding.
