This is only true if you have an account in Rydex.
Through ETrade the minimum is $5000 (or even less, I'm not quite sure)
ScottTrade rules look almost identical to ETrade (including the 4PM cut-off time) so the minimum must be lower than Rydex too.
(BTW: Augieboo, take heed of DlphcOrcl comments. Trading these funds is mentally VERY different from trading stocks. You have to think one day ahead, you have NO stops, and they can move 15% against you in one day very easily. Start with VERY little money)
