I was referring to the past with this company. You are highlighting the moves since Schultz came on board for the most part. It is great to have a stellar head office but what counts to get the gold out long term is people who can work with the locals in their language. Ashanti has a bad reputation among the Guineans as they make the Guineans speak English while working in Guinea at Siguiri. I know from certain Guineans that this is viewed very badly. Guinea is only stable as long as the leader is in good shape. Conte is not in good shape. The influence of the refugees is causing unstability. There are outbreaks of chloera and (I believe)polio recently, especially around Kindia. Last time I checked, you had to go through Kindia to get to the mine.

The Norwegians have had a long history in Guinea that relates mostly to relations with the Govt of Sekou Toure and the ocean shipping business. I know people who have worked at Lero and have not painted a rosy picture.

I am not trying to pick a fight or play a game for gain, all I am trying to do is highlight considerations people should take when considering any company.
