Not sure about those numbers, I guess you would have to start with when Vietnam started major combat operations, because in the beginning there were very low numbers of troops

you are right the aspect of the region makes Iraq worse than Vietnam in the geopolitical aspect of it, it certainly will increase our enemies and terrorist recruitment, and a loss will embolden our enemies

that is why we are in such a quandary, if we leave we admit defeat and possibly embolden real state sponsors of terror, if we stay we face huge casulties and a possible civil war, I wouldn't want to be the man to try and figure it out
