"Lowe’s said that because of continued uncertainty about the strength of an economic recovery, it would pull back its planned store openings in 2010 and curtail several planned projects. The company, which opened 18 new stores in the second quarter, said that it now planned to open between 35 and 45 next year.
Lowe’s plans to open 11 new stores in the third quarter,and said that it expected net sales to down by between 2 per cent and 5 per cent, with comparable store sales down by as much as 10 per cent."
