It's a combo. of reasons.

The stock is based on how the company is doing. If the Revenue numbers are good, you will see that in the stock price. If the company continues to reward themselves with shares, you see a reflection in the share price. If you see a increase in the A/S or the O/S, you also will see a change in the share price.

This is why they have charts. It's a reflection/ Indicator of how well the compnay is doing or how bad the company is doing.

SO, If the stock price continues a trend downwards, month after month, year after year. Then common sense would say, change what you are doing.

A new management team would be a good start.
