Correct. They want to generate revenue from commissions.
However I am not sure, since it was not clearly indicated, that they will completely stop doing any sort of trading pools once they become an independent broker. They have stopped trading the pool. However, they are still trading their own money. I am assume that they might have other options/plans not fully discussed in their PRs once they are fully operational.
Since they can produce high returns (data from trading pool) and since I do not know a lot about futures trading, I would opt for joining a potential pool, rather than trying to trade using their software. If I were to go alone my expectations would be a huge learning curve to overcome and potentially huge losses before making money.
