machbryan1, no, SpongeTech does not own the patent. The two inventors, Wayne Celia (CEO of Dicon) and William Sorrentino are the inventors of the patent. They assigned 100% of the rights to the H.H. Brown Shoe Company. I am going to call the US Patent office tomorrow and find out exactly what the term 'assignment' means. Does it mean the H.H. Brown Shoe Co. now owns the patent outright, or does it mean that the two inventors simply gave them exclusive control over the patent, and that the two inventors still own the patent. What I really want to find out from them is whether or not the two inventors can cancel the assignment to the Brown Company and reassign the rights to SpongeTech.
