My problem with the Bush team is that they yielded the party to doctrinaires from the neocons to the extremely religious far right, I liked the Rudman type Republican party much more. It was rational, knew the limitations of government, including the limitations on our resources and how to use these smartly rather than like an elephant in a china shop. A President is just a figurehead, it is the team he brings on board that count, apart of Cinton itch behind his zipper, he had a team that did not do too shabily. He got the Israeli and Palestinians to the brink of a peace agreement, he had the economy running pretty well and brought interest rates, the intrinsic one low enough to keep the economy going even through rough times, sure he mght have had some other not so smart ideas, but the team he had on board would not let him stray from centrists policies too much. Kerry might very well bring on a similar team, without extreme doctrines, but with realistic views of "fairness" and what it is we can and cannot do.
