if a short is initiated and covered in a single session it would never show up in data like that. keep in mind shorts tend to go after story stocks before they start a major run. they are often in league with longs who line the bids and wait for cheapies.

i feel sorry for the weak retailers who sell a stock like this so close to the bottom, and right before major news breaks. but that's what makes a market. these same traders who get shaken out can always chase later, or if they move on there will be plenty of deep pockets to soak up the remaining float and push us where we belong. jmho.
