I spoke with a retired builder last night who said he envisioned spray- in foam insulation would probably be industry standard nationwide within 5-10 years. He said just as the attached garage swept the nation in the late 50's and early 60's this construction technique will be almost universally applied. The increased costs of energy for home consumption will almost force homeowners and commercial building owners to invest in the most energy efficient options up front. He was not aware of the "retrofit" of commercial buildings and homes through the federal grants, but said if you gave an older home to lower income families within a few years in many cases they would not be able to afford the home due to rising energy costs, so investing in retrofit grants made sense. It appears to me that either through genius or being at the right place at the right time AMNE is going to be up and riding the front of this wave. Good luck to everyone as this story continues!
