The one I used most, which is out of T DOT is

http://www.howardchui.com/

Link shows a few others - Steve's was good at one point.

Once you get to Howard you can read the forums which can be helpful. Unfortunately the 1X and the GPRS, when I looked before, were so different that you couldn't get one phone base model that worked on both (ie my Nokia 8390 only works under GSM - but they may sell a 8395 that works under CDMA for example - where the network is different but otherwise the phone is similar).

The negative for me was a lack of NET usage knowledge - so asking "how good is the internet on the phone" was rather useless since no one cared for that. If you can narrow down to one or two, you might want to try and get the manual and read a detailed list of the features.

My Nokia 8390's best feature had to be the IR - beaming numbers from the Palm was worth the price of admission. But oddly a lot of phones, even today, do not even have that feature - stupid really. I think you can even have a net connection via IR.

To me I would lean toward ensuring it has Bluetooth. I have a corded headset - and a few times I try leaving the car and the phone is dangling - eventually the jack at the phone started to fail and I had to buy another. You could then get a bluetooth wireless headset -- which probably is phone independent - whereas mine only works on Nokias.

I haven't even looked at all the features - mind you they want you to get a picture phone so that they make $$ with you sending pics back and forth. Of the 4 in Toronto, Bell has been the slowest in adopting newest technology with Telus being number one.

Do you own a PDA Kastelco?

Cheers!
Blake
