WESTPORT, Conn. (July 17, 2009)—Simpro S.p.A., an Italian licensee of Tirex Corp., has signed an agreement to supply a cryogenic rubber crumbing unit to a Malaysian tire reprocessing company.

The Tirex technology claims to be the first commercial tire recycling system to freeze tire rubber with cold air as opposed to using expensive liquid nitrogen.

Simpro signed a memorandum of understanding with Enchantex Solutions SDN BHD of Malaysia. The memorandum represents a contract worth about $21 million and covers the manufacture, delivery, commissioning and warranties for a turnkey tire recycling facility utilizing Tirex’s patented tire recycling technology, the TCS System.
