Not sure I agree with your but not tech stuff so much.

Dell has decided to leave the price war behind and that reflected better margins on their stuff in the last quarter. Techs are a hard read because new gear keeps coming out and forcing down prices of the old stuff.

DVD media, for example, is on the whole, around $1CDN/disc. Last set of CDs I bought was Sam's opening and that was $0.33/disc. I forsee a real flood on the market of CDs that can't be sold. Who says a DVD shouldn't be $0.80/disc (same product)?

Care to elaborate? You don't pay $4 for eggs the day they are put out and pay $0.50 for the same a week before expiry. You pay $2.27 always.

I definitely see creep in the groceries but moreso in the toiletries. Last week I go to Walmart and see a 12pk of tissue paper - for $8.96. No Frills it is $4.25 for 6. So it is cheaper for two by less than $0.50 buck at No Frills right? WRONG!. Majestic (brandname) is sold at WMT and they do the "No Name" for No Frills. Guess what. WMT is 136 count. No Frills is still 150. So I have been buying about 6-10 6packs of tissue from No Frills these past few trips and will continue to do so. I saw the decrease from 150 - 144 with Scottie but couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 136. Based on the 150 count that is $4.94 at WMT -- a 16% price increase.

Sorry to hit tissue paper on you... if I had a tissue I would give it to you so you could wipe your tears of joy..

In the end the direct expenses are what affect me. So I will manage where I can.

(On the last box of "Salt Water" Kirby, I bought last December at Zellers... I should have bought about 6 more cases I think..)
