BUSH GLOSSES OVER COMPLES FACTS in SPEECH - AP, 09/03/04

Iraq - Bush talked of a 30-member alliance masking the fact that US troops are pulling by far most of the weight.
Afganistan - Bush talked about captured or killed terrorist, but did not talk about the replenishment of their ranks or the still MIA Osama bin Laden.
Taxes - Bush said Kerry "is running on a platform of increasing taxes". Kerry would increase taxes on the rich, but would give tax cuts to everyone else.
Education - Bush said in his 2000 campaign he supported local control of education, yet now promises to toughen federal standards that override local decision making.
