As someone who know's Robert he is a great person and one which is active in his faith. I suspect such a donation to a 501c could be related to his belief in tithing (See link 1 below). Such a donation should not be thought of as lack of faith in his company, just the oposite would be my estimation. The proceeds from his donation are in the area approximately 13 million dollars at current prices.
