All of the Roma Grape tomatoes on the big bush I have are all coming ripe more or less at the same time. So I decided to make picante sauce and can it. I'm into the second wave of pole beans. I've about decided bush beans don't give enough back for the trouble. I do have several tomato plants coming up in various places, and the Heirloom tomato finally got its feet and has started producing. I put in a Dwarf Mandarine Tangerine this weekend, with fallen flower tops from the Jacaranda and Jessamine mixed into the soil around the rootball so the added Redworms would hang around a while. I'm seeing I need to take the approach the French take from the article posted here about cramming as much into one space as the ground will hold. Y'all's gardens are magnificent! Its a fine balance between enough shade against the summer heat and enough sunlight for the vegetables which need full sun!
This is the second year I've been unsuccessful with the Yellow Squash. The fruit comes up, achieves a few inches and then it rots from the bloom backwards. I have one cucumber out of three plants as well. Not enough sun? not enough water?

I love this board!
