ot: funguy..yes he did (partial)...but the advantage is definetely towards girls for scholarship, due to "Title 9" ( equal amount of girls to boys)... he went to a division 1 school,Ohio University but his choices were very limited (because of title9)...in high school he was 7th in the state for backstroke.for example he had a full ride at bowling green, but the coach called and said the school was deleting mens swimteam, mens track&field and mens wrestling...sad, very sad..it shows where our country is headed too. please dont get me wrong...girls need to paticipate but on the flip side so do boys...plain and simple title 9 deprives boys. yes im bitter.
its a great sport with great teammates and moms and dads,as you are experiencing now or will. If your daughter does well she will definetely do well for scholarships.
as a tip...find her a good coach.. usually in "swim clubs"..starts turns and finish are the keys.
what stroke does she like?
best to you and your daughter,
boomer
