UL = Underwriter Laboratories.
It is somewhat the NORM to certify products sold in the US and anywhere else that these products meet all safety requirements. It's like in Europe you have CE, TUV and in Canada you have CSA. CSA and UL are in a partnership also now which is called cULus.

I agree this is a lotto pick.. Put a small $150 or $200 and let it ride.....
