I really do not think that they are seeing SA as the be-all, end-all goal, for which everything/anything else should be sacrificed regardless of cost.There's still too much unknown about the actual, real-life effect of Ampakines on obstructive sleep apnea. What I have been saying for a couple months is: Everything is on the table, and they will be trying to get the best deal they can for an asset, combination of assets, or the whole company. In a way, it's already a sealed-bid auction, the deadline for the last bid submission will be in early September, that's my guess.

BTW--this may be irrelevant, but I think it does reflect something genuine. I've written about the way that Big Pharma froze all spending for months, which really hit a lot of small companies hard, and that I see some thawing happening. Well, last November a major pharma took off the table a significant consulting project because of the economy--five minutes ago they sent me an email saying they'd now like to move ahead with it again--nine months later. It's a micro-indicator, but I think it is a valid read of the industry 'psychology.'
