Hi 2bit! Cycles, as described by J. M. Hurst are time-defined entities which are supposed to predict roughly when troughs will take place but not crests. An FLD (future line of demarcation) is a graphical construction in the future, based on the move of price recorded ½ cycle ago. If price action intersects it, this should give some momentum to the move. There is a complex rationale meant to explain why this should be so. Briefly , it is due to the synchronicity of multiple cycles, as proposed by Hurst.
