Google (GOOG) is expected to announce it is developing an operating system for a personal computer, the New York Times reported Wednesday, citing sources.
The decision to make the system is a direct challenge to Microsoft (MSFT) and it is based on its Chrome browser, the NYT said on its Web site.
It will be announced on a company blog Wednesday, the report said.
