AS = Authorized shares, which represents in credit card terms what your maximum credit limit is. Authorized shares is what is allowed by the company as the amount of shares that are allowed into circulation.

OS = Outstanding Shares, which represents in credit card terms, the amount you have spent on your credit card without meeting the maximum limit, or your outstanding balance. Outstanding shares are the shares that have been purchased by shareholders and are in current circulation.

I use the credit card terminology to explain this, because most can relate to this :)
