I can give you a reason: she has her priorities straight. Her MOST important responsibility is to her family, especially her children. When she first got into politics, she was able to juggle work around her family with her husband's help, as well as the older children. When she had her latest child, the demands on her as a mother were increased substantially. She was still "getting by" until the enemies of life and liberty started attacking her continuously because she represents what they hate the most: faith in god and christian principles upon which this nation was founded. Since she entered the national political scene and became subject to all the vicious attacks she has not been able to perform fully her duties as governor and mother and wife. It's not her fault. It's the fault of those attacking her. So far she's had 15 of the charges brought against her dismissed. Not one has stuck. The malicious and unfounded accusations have cost her family half a million dollars and the state another 2 million. If we didn't have such a corrupt judicial system, those bringing these false charges would be paying all those expenses and going to jail themselves. To me it's simply a matter of she decided that her family and the state would both be better served by stepping down. How it affects her personally is not as important as how it affects her family and state. Selfish people can't understand that. It's called sacrifice and concern for others. She is a fighter, and I think she will find a way to serve her country that will not hurt her family. Time will tell.
