…doctors will ramp up prescriptions of Percocet for cancer patients to increase opiate levels as needed for pain, despite it increasing the acetaminophen dosage, but won't prescribe oxycodone (pure opiate) and let the patient take Tylenol on the side, as prescribing oxycodone has a very negative stigma attached to it.

Doctors do some really dumb things from time to time and this is one of them. I could cite some other examples, but I wouldn’t want to offend the MD’s who post on the board :- )
