Seriously, I can see were the worry regarding cancer risk of Lantus comes from. Insulin analogues have different binding affinity for the type 1 insulin-like growth factor (IGF1R), and Lantus was the only one presenting a significant increase in affinity to IGF1R. IGF1R is a proliferation promoting receptor, and has been associated with cancer progression (it increases the aggressiveness of already transformed cells), but so far, neither IGF-I nor insulin were shown to cause malignant transformation and it would take more scientific publication to prove that Lantos stimulates cancer.
