IBM has a similar problem with the Opterons, basically because the Opterons are just too good.

Oh please give me a break. POWER4/5 is already dual
CMP and Opteron and IPF will be too next year. In addition
both POWER5 is and dualie IPF will be multithreaded while
dualie Opteron won't. In 2H05 there will be two server chips
far ahead of everything else. The Opteron will not be either
of them.
