Thanks for the clarification. I agree that assuming insiders are selling everytime restricted shares decrease and float increases was either incorrect or misleading. However, "Company Owned" or "Restricted" still tells you exactly how many privately held shares exist. Since you are an "insider" and "outsider", do you know if all the restricted shares will eventually become part of the float? Did you have other options for how your shares were handled when you bought directly from the company?
If restricted shares are being added to the float when they come off restriction, simply shifting from one bucket to another, would you agree that the best test of "dilution" would be the difference between A/S (month over month) - O/S (month over month)? If we know how much they are pulling out of their A/S "treasury" and adding to the open market, that is truly where we can calculate dilution, is it not?
