New York, NY (January 5, 2006) - Designer and artist Jimi Beach introduces the most delicious, creatively conceived, and daringly packaged designer drink ever to launch in the market: Bong Spirit brand VODKA. Bong Vodka, as its called by its growing fan base, is a designer spirit beverage with a distinctive character that made its U.S. debut at a hot launch party at Miami's swank VIP club Mansion on Friday, December 2nd 2005.
The event capped a week of wild promotions that coincided with Art Basel, an
international art and design fair that visits Miami once a year. Bong Vodka
combines a sense of community and a cutting edge package design, with a 150
year old vodka featuring a silky smooth finish that is beating other super
premiums in blind taste test among liquor connoisseurs and casual drinkers
Bong Vodka fuses the traditional craftsmanship of its heritage (produced by
five generations of master distillers in Holland) together with Jimi Beach's
own 21st Century design concepts. Beach chose the daring and conversational
bottle design based on the symbolism of the bong as a communal object, and
the subcultural role it has represented for decades as an icon for the
underground art and entertainment community.
Bong Vodka will fulfill a similar role as the centerpiece of The Inspirit, a
soon-to-be-launched online community that will bring together musicians,
DJ's, artists, designers, and more. In conjunction with the web-based effort
to promote the underground art scene, Bong Spirit Import Company has
designed promotional events for the VODKA to double as exposure
opportunities for new talent in the creative community. In keeping with the
philosophy of the brand, up and coming artists will benefit from the profits
of Bong Vodka, which will be used to create sponsorships and produce events
and showcases, from a local to a national level.
Florida based nightclub designer and musician Jimi Beach is the creative
force behind Bong Vodka. He assembled a team of friends and specialists in
the industry to develop and market the liquor concept. Beach's business
partner, Paul Taeger is a veteran of the manufacturing and import industry,
and is responsible for overseeing the VODKA'S production in Holland. Beach
has long been fascinated by the fusion of disparate elements; in 1998, he
found a way to combine his love of water with his passion for design,
creating the indoor waterfall installation company BLUWORLD. Now BLUWORLD is
the industry leader in designing indoor waterfalls, with clients ranging
from The Home Depot to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Bong Vodka is currently being distributed in the state of Florida by
Southern Wine and Spirits (SWS) and will have a wider release in select
states starting in January 2006. A series of promotional events is
scheduled for Florida and New York in the upcoming months, and will showcase
