i'm going to assume when you read the words 'feeding frenzy' you equated it with pps? i took it as they didn't want to chum the water and attract the bigger fish that may be able to prey on a small start up company. If it were me I would take the same appoach, quietly getting things signed sealed and delivered before opening themselves up for attack. seems smart to me.
