China Mobile: No Deal in India

China Mobile (NYSE:CHL, 941.HK) parent China Mobile Communications Corp does not have plans to invest in the Indian market at this stage, reports Sohu quoting a company spokesperson on Monday. The spokesperson said he had not heard rumors that Mobile planned to purchase stake in Indian telecom operator Reliance Communications (RCom), said the report.

India's Business Standard reported June 22 that RCom had started preliminary talks with China Mobile for a strategic alliance and possible equity participation of 5-6%. An RCom spokesperson declined to comment and an email to China Mobile went unanswered, the report said
