NVEC...in the news yesterday...NVE Corp profiled in New America section of IBD (41.19 ) : IBD reports the co is a small co with tiny products and big profits. NVEC makes sensors and couplers that go into pacemakers, hearing aids, factory automation equipment and memory chips. Thanks to NVE's sensors, hearing aids, for instance, can sense the interference from a cell phone, and seamlessly switch to a different frequency when a wearer raises the handset to his ear. And the technology holds the potential, analysts say, of making computer drives smaller and less power-thirsty. The technology also could one day bring pinpoint accuracy to global positioning systems... Observers think there's potential for a game-changing technology deal that could put NVE into a host of consumer products. Among those management has hinted at are tamper-proof memory chips and solid-state compassing that could vastly improve the accuracy of GPS systems. Imagine a smart phone that doesn't just know roughly where you are, but exactly which storefront is in front of you and which direction you're facing. "If you know whether somebody on Fifth Avenue is facing Tiffany or a restaurant while you have their attention, that is very valuable in the e-commerce world," said Steven Crowley, an analyst at Craig-Hallum.
