The problem is that these IR "colors" don't have any relationship to the visible light colors which result from visible light beiong absorbed preferentially.
The result is that the colors we want to see only result from absorbtion from the visible spectrum. There is, so to speak, no "invisible" visible light.
This doesn't preclude a color security camera for daylight use and B/W mode for night use. I happen to think its an excellent product.
I am educated as a physicist and worked for many years as an optical engineer. Its my opinion based on my knowledge. There's always a chance that someone can find ways around these types of difficulties, but fundamentally I don't see how.
