So, then, maybe it could be said that when there is enough volume in a stock to attract the attention of enough traders (like a light bright enough to attracts enough bugs for it to become "buggy"), then you will have an increase in volume great enough to cause a breakout. So maybe the "big" volume on days of breakouts is attributable more to traders "thinking" that something is doing with a stock, so they start buying, which causes more traders to jump on the bandwagon.

There is a famous philosopher who said (paraphrased): "If men define situations real, then they are real in their consequences"... which I take to mean, that if enough people believe that something is real, it then becomes real, in such a way that if all of those people did not come together (herd) to make one single determination (like that a stock is ready to go up, and therefore should be bought), then that thing that they determined as "imminent" or what have you, would not have come to pass.

Is that what you are saying here?
