What exactly are the mechanisms for forcing the NSSers to cover? And are they truly enforceable?

I think the MMs did a good amount of shorting on Friday, and probably covered a lot of it when it bottomed out. They made a good chunk of change on what they covered, but am thinking that they still have uncovered position on SPNG and would love to see it come back and bite them in the butt. Of course, this is IMHO.
