And since you brought up the phrase "cast doubt", please think about what happens when a company consistently PRs potential deals or actual deals, but is silent when those deals do not materialize, either on schedule or at all or when deals do not materialize as projected.
I won't repeat this list as it's been done here many times, but between the new product announcements of last year, the shareholder letter and the merger, I have not seen one "forward looking statement" that said "This won't happen as previously announced, because ...".
That (not to mention CCs postponed indefinitely), IMHO, creates doubt about everything that could, should, or might happen in the future.
