Voltage - I received essentially the same response you did. Basically they are a transfer agent and certificates of stock would be tracked via your SSN. That was why they asked for it. However, if you do not have any BSTI in cert form they will not have your SSN in their database and hence will not provide the data. So I suppose I could put in cert form some shares and may actually do that.

Anyway bottom line is that they will provide the information if BSTI faxes them a note saying I will call and you can provide that information.

I spoke with Amelia around 4:30PM and she was waiting to talk with Tim to get his approval as she doesn't have the ability to approve such a request. I surmise I will hear back tomorrow, and if not I will call again. I might also call my broker as he should be able to get that information as well. I didn't think of that earlier and someone else pointed that out to me.

So tomorrow I will see if BioShield gets back to me and I will call my broker as well. I don't consider this a big deal, I do consider it a hastle but I can understand American Stock Transfer and Trust Company's position and the reasoning behind their policy.
