As long as you don't call me psychedelic.

I went downtown today and just before I left I made a drop into the Worlds Biggest Bookstore - Investment section - I find they have quite a good selection of books. (even though I will buy them via Amazon.. the worlds largest bookstore?).

Anyahoo was reading a few things here and there then a elderly man (w/hearing aid; poor attire/look; bad B.O.) showed up. I picked up a book and leafed through it a bit and returned it to the shelf. He then made a comment about the author, Price Headley and mentioned he visits his site, BigTrends.COM regularly and it was a good read.

He is also a reader of IBD and recommended that. (Yes, that too was something I was planning on looking at seriously this fall).

We spoke a bit - and mentioned another good contributor to read was Alan Farley (see below). On TheStreet.com amongst others.

I spoke of the junk, in a respective tone of course, and he mentioned the big one out of Ottawa - Orezone. He seemed to suggest he picked up some in the $1.20s. But I am not 100% (except he had 50,000 - gotta go back a year to see the price lower than 85 so me thinks he is a high roller). I mentioned that was a top pick by Embry recently.

The guy had high praises for their work - that one of the majors was pushing ahead with work on one site and that was sort of a "confirmation" of Orezone's find seeing as they (Goldfields) wouldn't waste their time otherwise. Mentioned "Essakan Main Zone" (which Goldfields is a partner). Another find was looking good too (assume it was Bondi).

He then said that a really good newsletter he subscribed to was OrMetal. (I suppose he was inferring that is where he got his picks from)

Seemed pretty knowledgeable.. (a lot of "next times" in my life happen -- screw up bad this time, but next time it will be different). I should've probably said maybe one day we can get together and talk.... but I have met some doozies downtown before so I was a bit leery..

... few other tid bits.. but that's another story.

Funny how seemingly uneventful moments in our lives might actually lead to something interesting... perhaps even prosperous...

And dagnagit.. didn't ask if I would see him at the show in October.. never know... maybe whilst eating a dawg with Kirby I'll see him..

Alan Farley is the well-known author of the bestseller, “The Master Swing Trader,” as well as a frequent commentator for MSN Money, Barron’s and others. Acclaimed by investment author Tony Oz as “one of the best instructors in the industry today,” Alan’s reputation is the result of his exceptional success as a swing trader and his ability to show others how to use his master swing trading techniques profitably.
