Nigeria, Sao Tome to Sell Oil Exploration Blocks, Guardian Says

June 9 (Bloomberg) -- Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe will sell the drilling rights to four oil blocks in their common territorial waters in 2011, the Guardian reported, citing an official of the authority managing the zone.

The Joint Development Authority, which manages the interests of both countries in the region, has started talks about carrying out seismic studies in the area, the Lagos-based newspaper said, citing President Jorge Santos.

Under the agreement, Nigeria gets 60 percent of revenue and Sao Tome receives 40 percent, according to the JDA Web site.
