View Additional ProfilesSANTA MONICA, Calif., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Saint James Company (OTC Bulletin Board: STJC) announced today that Samson Acquisition Corporation (which, as previously announced, signed an agreement to be acquired by The Saint James Company) has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of Lawson's Dry Hills Wines, a leading producer of New Zealand wines. Consummation of this acquisition is subject to standard finance, due diligence and closing conditions that are usual and customary for transactions of this nature and magnitude.

Since its first vineyard plantings in 1980, Lawson's Dry Hills, located in the heart of New Zealand's famous Marlborough viticultural region, has come to be recognized as one of the country's finest wineries, with an emphasis on aromatic wines. Founded by Ross and Barbara Lawson, the winery produces a benchmark range of New Zealand wines, ranging from Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir to its award winning Gewurztraminer. The winery is also recognized as one of the founders and leaders of the screw-cap revolution to improve wine storage quality, and has a simple and straightforward philosophy "to produce Marlborough wines of great character at a fair price." Lawson's Dry Hills is a member of the prestigious Family of Twelve group of New Zealand's leading family wineries.

Richard Hurst, on behalf of The Saint James Company, said, "New Zealand wines are growing rapidly in markets around the world, and Lawson's Dry Hills is a well-known global exporter of high quality wines, representing everything that the wine drinking public enjoys in great New Zealand wines. The Lawson family has built a top-tier winery that delivers consistent award-winning wines that wine novices and connoisseurs alike can enjoy. We wholeheartedly embrace the winery's philosophy, and look forward to working with their professional team in continuing to produce wines of great character."
