China lost out on the Unicol deal as this was an American company and things got very dicey with Govts.China didnt loose out on Akpo deal(even though it cost a premium)as it dealt with a South African aquisition as I recall.
IMHO..China will not loose this one as Addax ultimately will hold biggest %'s in most blocks and operatorship mostly as well(or at least head technical with block 2),IF ALL THIS COMES TO BE!!!
Addax is Canadian/Swiss backed and once it's pockets are as full as need be..then China will "Tailor" the deal to sweeten it up for Addax shareholders!!!!(which incidently might include us) for yet another multiple for the die hard taken out ERHE'ers.
To which Im happy to be 1 ...yes even after all these yrs(I guess the trick was to average down when possible...if you believe!
