CM. Are you saying you believe in God. Yet since his scripture is ancient as you put it the scripture is not how God wants us to live?
I agree that some scripture is relating to the culture of the time it was written.
But the message in most of those rare times usally still applies to today.
And the rest of the teachings was God setting limits on how to live.
Scripture certainly doesn't leave me content.
As it shows me constantly how much I need to grow on a daily basis.
