Here is a comparison map of Saskatchewan (our region of FALC) and the N.W.Territory pipes. This is provided by Kensington Resources. Here is the link:
http://www.kensington-resources.com/s/MapsandPhotos.asp?ReportID=81541&_Title=This-diagram-illus....

I will show the CaratPerTon of the Northwest Territories in a moment. We can see how huge the pipes are at Saskatchewan compared to the NW Territories and African pipes.

Alex provided the following additions to the thread as an idea of what was happening in these smaller pipes in the N.W.Territories. The Fort A la Corne region is supposed to be significvantly more diamondiferous, more macro diamonds, beter, quality etc... Thanks Alex

"The current best fits to the available data give the following estimates:

Pipe ------- crt/ton ---$value/crt --- value / tonne$

Hearne ---- 2.33 ------ 44 ----------- 103

Tuzo ------- 2.20 ------ 68 ----------- 150

Tesla ------ 0.37 ------ 96 ------------ 36

5034 ------ 1.60 ------ 51 ------------ 82

"

This gives us somewhat of an idea of what is to be expected. These are numbers from DeBeer's pipes in the NW Territories. So the 0.5 carat per tonne that you used Dr. Diamond is reasonable to say the least.

End Alex's additions

As we can see the carat per ton from these advanced mines show us that they are producing:
2.33 CPT
2.20 CPT
.37 CPT
1.60 CPT respectively.

A medium of 1.625 can be derived from these 4 fully operational mines. Kensington and Star are still sampling in FALC and production will be far better than what they are announcing right now. IMHO. Kensington has complained that DeBeers is holding down and back the true results for the diamond samples and are upset because it is keeping Kensington's PPS down. It had fallen from 2.34 down to .80 cents when the complaint was issued by Kensington. I believe there fear was that DeBeers would keep the PPS down on Kensington in case they decided they wanted to buy them out completely or take them over.

We will see the carat per ton come up on the Shore Gold and Kensington mines as time goes on. Remember Shore Gold and Kensington are still sampling and these other mines are in production. The big boys will keep the best results back just as I believe Urban and CMKX has on Carolyn and it will be released before long. This is all part of the business and we need to take that into account. Either way on the CPT data that is released: whether it is 1 CPT, .5 CPT, .2 CPT, or .1 CPT that is announced it will always be subject to scrutiny because of the nature of the industry.

I am sure all of this is irrelevant as it will be what it will be. Just some food for thought to add to the mix.
