What the majority of the people on this board DO NOT understand is the importance of well control in evaluating seismic data. Each and every well drilled adds immensely to the chance of success of the next well drilled. I believe this is the reason we have seen so little drilling in the JDZ so far. Everyone is waiting for that next well to be drilled so they can get the shared data before spending tens of millions on drilling. And that applies to Chevron, Addax, Sinopec and Anadarko alike. What we have seen is a history of blaming the lack of activity on a rig shortage. I don't believe that is the primary reason for this lack of activity.

Fortunately for us, the oil companies have run out of time and can no longer play these games. Drilling is imminent now and no one will gain a real advantage.

I actually believe the well location of OBO-1 was selected in order to maximize the info coming to Chevron while minimizing the info coming to other parties in the JDZ.
