why would it appeal to management? This reverse split concept is a red herring. Any delisting action by AMEX, after the usual appeal process, will come long after the data is in for SA. Some of the selling today may come from people who were spooked by that delisting notice, but it's pretty irrelevant. If they get positive data, they'll get a partnership. If they get a partnership, their valuation will rise enough to stay listed. If they get bad data, and end up with no partnership, then all the splits in the world won't preserve the AMEX listing. They raised enough money to get them towards the end of 3Q.If SA does not come through, the only Plan B I see (and it could,as some have suggested, become plan A, with a suitable offer), would be licensing the whole low-impact platform before that time ends, in order to develop the high-impacts. Or sell all the components and call it a day.
